Law aspirants seeing admission in prestigious law colleges and universities must have started preparing for different law entrance exams. Before, all institutes used to have their own entrance exams. However, with time, some standard entrance exams have been set. Most law schools accept the score of these entrance exams.
As an aspirant, you should know about the most important and prominent exams that can help you get admission to the law institute of choice. Given below is the list of law entrance exams along with their schedule in 2021.
CLAT Exam
CLAT is one of the most sought-after law entrance exams. It is a national-level exam that is conducted by 22 NLUs. Most private law schools also accept the score of the CLAT exam for admission to undergraduate exams. It is held across 80 cities in India.
The exam dates for both CLAT 2022 and CLAT 2023 have been announced. CLAT 2022 exam will be conducted on May 8, 2022.
SLAT
Symbiosis International University, Pune, conducts SLAT or SET Law. The candidates who appear for the exam are admitted into one of the four law schools, including Symbiosis Law School, Pune, Hyderabad, Nagpur, and Noida.
Details of SLAT 2022 will be available in February 2022 with SLAT 2022 notification.
AILET Exam
NLU Delhi conducts the law entrance exam for its law programs. The aspirants who are looking for admission in NLU Delhi need to appear for this exam. AILET 2022 exam date ANNOUNCED; to be conducted on May 1, 2022. Application forms to OPEN in the 1st week of January. The selected students are admitted to the BA LLB (Hons) and LLM courses at the institution.
LSAT India
Held by the Law School Admission Council (LSAC), it is an entrance exam accepted by most law schools of India for their undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Previously, it was held by Pearson VUE on behalf of LSAC. LSAC has started LSAT India 2022 registrations.
MH CET Law Exam
The law entrance exam is held for selecting students for admissions in the undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered in the law schools of Maharashtra. It is a state-level common entrance exam that is accepted in most universities of the state. The application process for the exam was held till August 9, 2021. The schedule for the entrance exam is yet to be announced.
AIBE
The All-India Bar Examination (AIBE) is a national-level law examination. The Bar Council of India conducts it to certify the qualifying candidates with the Certification of Practice. The last date to complete the registration process was October 4, 2021. The exam will be conducted on October 31, 2021, as per the revised schedule.
DU LLB Entrance Exam
Delhi University conducts the DU LLB entrance exam for selecting the students for its law courses. These courses are offered at three centers: Campus Law Centre, Law Centre I, and Law Centre II. The registration for this computer-based exam closed on August 21, 2021. The entrance exams were held between September 26, 2021, to October 1, 2021.
Banaras Hindu University BA LLB Entrance Test
The BHU UET exam is a university-level entrance test in which candidates from pan India can appear. Those who qualify for the exam and appear on the merit list will be admitted into the undergraduate law programs offered at the university. The schedule for the entrance exam is yet to be provided.
Various other state and university-level exams are also conducted in India. The aspirants should appear for as many exams as possible to increase their chances of getting admitted into an institution of repute.
